Martin, tell us a little about your background.
After graduating from Stockholm University, I followed the traditional path and completed my judicial clerkship at a district court. During my clerkship, I had the opportunity to work on cases in the Land Court, which sparked my interest in real estate law. Once my clerkship was finished, I joined a law firm where I worked with M&A, particularly in the real estate sector. It was during this time that my interest in construction law emerged, an area I have since specialized in and continue to be particularly passionate about.
What do you think is your biggest asset for Fylgia?
I believe my specialization in construction and consulting law is my greatest asset for Fylgia. Over the past nine years, I have predominantly worked with these issues in both litigation and more proactive project work, aiming to avoid legal disputes or strategically position clients for potential litigation. I have a comprehensive understanding of the projects and the construction process, and I’m careful to ensure that the crucial commercial aspects are never sidelined when applying the law.
What does the future look like in your field?
The construction industry has been very active in recent years. My sense is that certain parts of the sector remain strong, while we have seen a slowdown in other areas. In some segments, there has been a significant deceleration. Regarding the legal aspects of the industry, I am eagerly looking forward to the new editions of the standard contracts that are about to be released in the market.
